In 1974 researchers discovered a significant decrease in crime and other negative events in those 11 cities where a population practicing meditation as part of Transcendental meditation program reached 1% of the population, a phenomenon referred to as Maharihi effect. This crime reduction encompassed homicide and other violent crimes. Fires and auto accidents were also reduced. People also experienced more optimism in economic prosperity.

‘. . . A new humanity will be born, fuller in conception and richer in experience and accomplishments in all fields. Joy of life will belong to every man, love will dominate human society, truth and virtue will reign in the world, peace on earth will be permanent, and all will live in fulfillment in fullness of life in God Consciousness.’

Healing cures depression

We often think of the process of healing as requiring something tangible. Depending on our perception of what healing is, we may think of eating healthy and exercise or some type of third party intervention. However, healing has a significant psychological component. One’s thoughts really matter and as it turns out positive thoughts of others can have a substantial effect on the well being of a person as well as that of society as a whole. Falling into depression can have many side effects, among which is constant low self-esteem, followed by many bad decisions. Healing is known to cures a person from depression, for not only does healing improve the overall body condition, but it also strengthens the mind and willpower. These are important factors which affect depression, and are a powerful ally in its extermination.

The practice of Maharishi Meditation

Maharishi Meditation involves the usage of mantra, and it is performed twice per day with eyes closed and in a 15-20 minutes interval. This type of meditation technique is known to improve the mind-body-soul connection, and helps an individual find his inner peace and wellness. While meditating, your mind will settle inward, find its serenity and your thoughts will become as light as a feather. In this state, you will experience your pure consciousness, the most peaceful level of your awareness. Once you master the self-control, things such as depression will become history.
