Side Back Glutes Hamstring ASHIATSU MASSAGE WITH FEET

In this video I am using a mat and bar for my deep tissue massage of hamstring glutes back and side of the body. Techniques demonstrated work well for athletes who often appreciate a focus on releasing the hamstring. Most posterior body strokes shown can be done strapped up in silks, aerial ashiatsu style. However, some techniques, such as ball walk, really require holding onto the bars. With ball walk you are putting all your body weight into the balls of your feet straight down. You also need the bars to pull yourself up to adjust the level of pressure. Ball walk is great for releasing muscles along the spine and for spinal alignment and lengthening. Sliding down slope technique also is most effective holding onto the bars, for more penetrating pressure and good contact.

Full Body Massage Workout: Side Work

During mat side work, propping yourself with your arms behind and pulling on client’s leg and arms strengthens your arms, upper body and core. You will be doing pushing and pulling with both your arms and legs. When ever youre just working with your feet and you are using a platform , like I am, you can also place your arms on the floor for anchoring. Alternately and just for a variety you can lean into the wall behind you, if wall is within leaning distance of few inches. I only brace with my back for short while, at all times contracting my core muscles for better grip and back support. It offers some relief and stretch to the mid back. Primarily I support myself with arms behind. When they tire I grab onto silks or the client:) Just keep switching to give various muscles a break.

Here I am pulling mybody up gripping the bar or the silks but I am not sitting in the silks. Any sliding action like the infinity down slope and skiing will also work your abdominal muscles, biceps and shoulders. Your upper back and chest also get a consistent workout when you are gripping and pulling yourself with your arms. Holding on to the silk offers a special challenge due to their
fluidity. The extended angling is well worth it as it allows you to really wrap around muscle insertions and to not have to stop a stroke due to arm length restriction.

Thai massage lends stretching aspects to ashiatsu. many times I refer to ashiatsu when in fact most of my ashiatsu videos involve elements of Thai massage as well. Ashi Thai fusion has become popular and these two related techniques compliment each other beautifully.
